Stage-gate model of innovation
A model of innovation which is organised in stages and processes like e.g. design thinking. The gate between the stages is an activity that finishes off one stage and makes participants ready for the next stage. Design thinking is one such model, Design for Change another. You can also find models of innovation which are NOT stage-gate models, e.g. the Innovation Diamond

Types of innovation
Radical innovation - the big changes like the invention of the iPad
Incremental innovation - small changes which are more like the ones we are looking for in this project

Types of thinking
Divergent thinking - from a stimulus you find lots of ideas. Thinking out of the box, creative thinking
Convergent thinking - analysing, sorting etc. facts to find a solution. What we normallt expect students to do in school.
